Israel and Hamas Ceasefire Agreement in Gaza – Level 1

Israel and Hamas have a new agreement to stop fighting in Gaza. This is called a ceasefire. The agreement will be signed on Thursday in Egypt. It is the first part of a bigger plan from the American president, Donald Trump, to end the war.

In this deal, Hamas will free 20 hostages. In return, Israel will free about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. This exchange will happen within three days after the agreement starts.

The leader of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, will meet with his government to approve the plan. Hamas confirmed the agreement. They said it will end the war, allow aid to enter Gaza, and make Israeli soldiers leave. Hamas wants President Trump to make sure Israel follows the agreement. President Trump said he thinks all hostages will be home by next Monday.
