Hamas Accepts Trump’s Peace Plan; U.S. Attacks Vessel off Venezuela – Level 3

News agencies have confirmed that Hamas has accepted a ceasefire proposal facilitated by Donald Trump. Although Trump had issued a Sunday deadline, Hamas anticipated the timeline and agreed to the terms. The next few hours are crucial for determining the implementation of the agreement. According to the plan, Hamas is to repatriate all remaining hostages, both living and deceased. Following this, Israeli forces are mandated to withdraw completely from Gaza, with a multinational coalition assuming oversight.

Trump’s role was instrumental; he engaged with leaders from Egypt and Qatar to intercede with Hamas. He reportedly pressured Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in a three-way call with the Emir of Qatar, demanding an apology for a recent Israeli bombing.

In a separate development, the U.S. Secretary of Defense reported a strike on a vessel off the Venezuelan coast, which killed four individuals. The U.S. administration justifies these actions by designating drug cartels as terrorist organizations. The Department of War, formerly the Department of Defense, asserts these vessels are used for narcotics trafficking from Venezuela into the U.S. While Trump has implied these maritime interdictions will continue, he has not confirmed any plans for strikes within Venezuela itself. The State Department’s $50 million bounty for Nicolás Maduro remains active, with the U.S. alleging he leads the “Cartel de Los Soles.”
