Toyota Brazil has announced it will resume vehicle production in November. Operations at its three factories, all located in the state of São Paulo, were stopped in September after a severe storm. This storm, with powerful winds reaching up to 90 km per hour, caused significant damage to the facility in the city of Porto Feliz. To get the assembly lines moving again, the company will initially use engines and parts that are imported from other Toyota units abroad. According to a statement from Toyota Brazil, this is a temporary solution. The full resumption of vehicle production with conventional engines is planned for January of the next year. Once fully operational, the factories will supply vehicles for both the Brazilian domestic market and for export. This situation shows how extreme weather events can interrupt the supply chain of a major global company, forcing it to find alternative solutions to continue its operations.
