Ace Frehley, a co-founder and the original lead guitarist of the band Kiss, passed away this Thursday at the age of 74. He had been hospitalized for two weeks following an accident at his home studio. Known to fans as ‘Spaceman,’ Frehley suffered a fall and was diagnosed with a cerebral hemorrhage. He was on life support but unfortunately did not survive. His family confirmed his death in a statement to the American press, saying they were devastated and heartbroken. Born Paul Daniel Frehley in New York, he began playing guitar as a child. He co-founded Kiss in 1973 with Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss. During his career with the group, Frehley co-wrote some of rock’s biggest hits, including ‘Rock and Roll All Night’ and ‘Detroit Rock City.’ After leaving Kiss, he started a successful solo career, releasing seven albums. Ace Frehley leaves behind a legion of fans and a remarkable legacy in the world of rock music.
