Ace Frehley, Kiss Co-Founder, Dies at 74 – Level 2

Ace Frehley, the well-known guitarist and a founder of the band Kiss, died this Thursday at the age of 74. Known as “Spaceman,” Frehley had been hospitalized for two weeks after an accident at his home studio. He suffered a fall which caused a cerebral hemorrhage. According to his family, he was on life support and did not survive. The family confirmed his death in a press statement, saying they were devastated and heartbroken. Paul Daniel Frehley was born in the Bronx, New York. He began playing guitar in his childhood, inspired by his family. He founded Kiss in 1973 with Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss. He co-wrote some of the band’s greatest hits, such as “Rock and Roll All Nite.” After leaving Kiss, he began a solo career and released seven albums, including the hit “Back in the New York Groove.” He leaves behind many fans and a great history in rock music.
