Russia Attacks Ukraine Near Polish Border, Sparking NATO Alert – Level 3

Russia has executed a new mass assault on Ukraine, targeting multiple regions. Notably, one strike hit a city near the border with Poland, placing the NATO country on high alert and prompting it to mobilize its air force.

This recent wave of attacks, which included over 500 drones and 50 missiles in one weekend, was designed to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defense systems. The attacks across nine regions showed the system’s limitations when faced with such a high volume of simultaneous threats. Dozens of civilians were injured in the bombardments.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky escalated his rhetoric, voicing his profound discontent with what he termed a “lack of reaction” from his Western allies. He argued that the international community’s response has been inadequate and that Russian President Putin is mocking the West’s silence and inaction. Zelensky has maintained pressure on his partners, including the Netherlands, urging them to provide more substantial support and to stop companies from selling components that Russia uses in its weapons.
